Blizzard Releasing Esports Documentary – A New Hero

Delving into the world of esports and the lives of its collegiate competitors

Blizzard has released the trailer for “A New Hero”, a documentary that delves into the world of esports and the lives of its collegiate competitors. Predicted to generate over $500 million USD in global revenue this year by Deloitte, esports already counts celebrities and professional athletes amongst its ranks, including DJ Steve Aoki, Shaq, and the Philadelphia 76ers; well on its way to mainstream popularity. Including commentary from famed entrepreneur Marc Cuban, NBA Finals Champion Rick Fox and World Series Champion Hunter Pence on the parallels between traditional sports and esports, “A New Hero” chronicles the life of collegiate gamers from Arizona State University, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Connecticut and University of Tennessee, Knoxville as they compete for up to $75,000 USD in tuition for their college career.

The documentary will debut on November 9 at 5am AEDT on YouTube, Twitch and www.HeroesOfTheDorm.com/documentary, but those who attend BlizzCon or purchase a Virtual Ticket will be able to see it early on November 6 at 8:30am AEDT during the Blizzard College Esports – Behind the Scenes panel.

This is a rare insight into what it takes to be an esports athlete in the collegiate tournament scene, so you won’t want to miss this engaging biopic.
