Challenging Pixel Art Boss-Rush Game Eldest Souls Announced For PlayStation And Xbox Consoles

Slay the Old Gods wherever you want

Souls-like games are hardly new. Every year we get several developers riffing off FromSoftware’s brutal blueprint, some good, some not so good, and some great. Eldest Souls, from English developer Fallen Flag Studio and CI Games’ indie label United Label Games, is one of those games that is hoping to appeal to those who revel in the challenge of the Souls games while trying to put its own spin on the formula with its isometric viewpoint and pixel art style.

Announced back in January 2019 originally for PC and then later for Nintendo Switch, Fallen Flag Studio and United Label Games today announced that Eldest Souls will also be hitting PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X&S, and Xbox One when it launches in Q2, 2021.

While Souls-like games are not usually my thing, I dabbled with the game’s demo last year and well…I couldn’t even defeat the first enemy. So I’ve got no doubt that fans of the genre are going to find a good time with Eldest Souls.
