Dead By Daylight Is Getting A Film Adaptation From Blumhouse And Atomic Monster

The Trapper is heading to Hollywood

Blumhouse and Atomic Monster have announced a partnership with developer Behaviour Interactive to produce a film adaptation of Death by Daylight.

As first reported by Variety, production companies Blumhouse, known for the likes of The Conjuring, M3GAN and The Black Phone, and Atomic Monster, known for Mortal Kombat and Malignant, are currently working with Behaviour Interactive to find a screenwriter and director to helm the project.

Behaviour Interactive Executive Vice President Stephen Mulrooney shared his excitement for the project, saying, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the Dead by Daylight universe. At Behaviour, our motto is to create unique moments, together, forever. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners to craft ‘Dead by Daylight’s’ killer entrance onto the big screen.”

Atomic Monster CEO and director James Wan shared the excitement, saying, “In ‘Dead by Daylight’ the Behaviour team has created a love letter to the world of horror, building an incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains — perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation. We’re big fans of the game at Atomic Monster, and are thrilled to be teaming up with Blumhouse to bring this frighteningly visceral world to the big screen.”

We know our partners at Behaviour and Atomic Monster will help us bring the best version of this game to life.”

There are no further details at this stage and it’ll likely be a while before we hear more, but it’ll be interesting to see exactly how the online multiplayer horror game translates to the big screen.
