Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree Trailer Coming Tonight, Gamers Reportedly “So Back”

At last, at long last

The first official gameplay reveal trailer for the long-awaited DLC expansion to 2022’s Elden Ring will drop later tonight. First announced almost a year ago, Shadow of the Erdtree promises to return players to the Lands Between but despite feverish fan anticipation, developer FromSoftware has had little else to say about the DLC until now, surprising everyone by jumping on Twitter (also known as X) to announce a trailer reveal for 2:00AM AEDT tomorrow (or tonight if you’re planning on staying up for the reveal, and why wouldn’t you?).

In a follow-up Tweet, FromSoftware has said that the “presentation” will be approximately three minutes long and available in multiple languages, premiering on the official Bandai Namco YouTube channel with a 30-minute countdown leading up to going live. It’s an event, basically, which isn’t all that surprising given Elden Ring’s massive commercial and critical success, the game garnering multiple Game of the Year awards and amassing over 20 million sales in just a year.

We scored the game a perfect ten in our review, stating “Backed by an incredible and rewarding open-world design, Elden Ring is a masterclass in every facet that it brings to the table. Without a doubt, this is FromSoftware’s magnum opus.”

One part pretentious academic and one part goofy dickhead, James is often found defending strange games and frowning at the popular ones, but he's happy to play just about everything in between. An unbridled love for FromSoftware's pantheon, a keen eye for vibes first experiences, and an insistence on the Oxford comma have marked his time in the industry.
