FromSoftware has taken to Twitter to announce a brand new story DLC for its critically acclaimed, runaway success, Elden Ring. Shadow of the Erdtree is the official name of the new content and while little is currently known about it, FromSoftware has stated that it is in development and that they hope players are looking forward to returning to the Lands Between.

Given the massive success of Elden Ring, it’s not all that surprising to see FromSoftware dive back into the game’s grimdark, fantastical world. The game was recently announced to have sold over 20 million copies in its first year of release, a mammoth number that came hot on the heels of the title also winning Game of the Year at this year’s DICE Awards. When we reviewed the game we gave it a coveted perfect score, calling it “…a masterclass in every facet that it brings to the table. Without a doubt, this is FromSoftware’s magnum opus”.
