Everything Shown Off At The Capcom Showcase 2022

Monster Hunter, Resident Evil and Arcade fans eat your hearts out

Next up in the showcase-athon that is this week is Capcom. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be making an appearance but, other than that, it is pretty much unknown. Here is our recap of what was shown off:

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

  • The Jungle is returning from the second generation with added endemic life and more.
  • Espinas from Monster Hunter: Frontiers is returning, with Velociprey also making an appearance.
  • Gore Magala from Monster Hunter 4 is back BABY!
  • Daimyo Hermitaur is also returning, so crustacean battles are incoming.
  • Rakna Kadaki is getting a new form, Pyre Rakna Kadaki, that does blast damage.
  • A Sunbreak demo is going live on Switch and Steam on June 15. You can try four levels of quests with varying difficulty, with as many plays as you like.
  • Free title updates are happening again after Sunbreak releases:

Update 1: Lucent Nargacuga and several other monsters are coming in August 2022. A new arena is being added: Forlorn Arena, plus rare and special species of monsters are being added.

Update 2: Happening in spring we will be getting rare species and subspecies monsters plus powered-up monsters.

Update 3: Happening in summer we will get several monsters, special species of monsters and powered-up monsters.

Updates to continue into 2023. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak which is releasing on Switch and PC on June 30.

Street Fighter 6 

Street Fighter 6 makes a brief appearance with the same trailer that was shown off at Summer Game Fest. Coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC in 2023.

Capcom Fighting Collection

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Street Fighter franchise, the Capcom Fighting Collection is releasing later this month on June 24. This collection includes 10 historic fighting titles, including the first-ever release of Red Earth outside of arcades. All of the included games will be playable online.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium

The Capcom Arcade Stadium has expanded. Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is releasing on July 22. This collection will include 32 arcade titles which can be purchased as a bundle or individually. All players will receive SONSON for free when downloading the base game.

Exoprimal

Exoprimal, the new team-based action game, gets a new trailer with lots of gameplay. Fight hordes of dinosaurs in Dino Survival mode as you undertake a variety of missions. The game also has a variety of exosuits with more to come. There is going to be a closed network test for Exoprimal ahead of release and you can sign up now. Exoprimal is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC in 2023.

Dragon’s Dogma

It’s the 10th anniversary of the Dragon’s Dogma franchise. There will be a new video releasing on June 16 on the Dragon’s Dogma and Capcom YouTube channels, talking about how the game came to be.

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is receiving some DLC. The DLC has three main components: a third-person mode for the main story, The Mercenaries returns with Additional Orders and Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu as playable characters and thirdly, an additional story called Shadows of Rose is being added. This story is a sequel to Village, where Rose is all grown up and wants to get rid of the powers she was born with. Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, a bundle of the base game plus the DLCs, will be releasing on October 28. The DLC can also be purchased individually. The long-awaited multiplayer game Resident Evil Re: Verse will also be going live on the same day, October 28.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

It wasn’t much, but we got a brief glimpse of gameplay from Resident Evil 4 Remake, releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 24, 2023.

Resident Evil Updates

Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 are returning for the latest generation, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, today. Built in the RE Engine, the three games are being upscaled for the latest generation consoles, including 4K support. If you already own these games on Xbox One and PS4 there will be a free digital upgrade to the current-gen. For PC players, an update patch will be available on the same date.
