There’s no denying the uncontested momentum that Bugsnax, the latest joint from Octodad creators Young Horses, has had since its announcement back in June.
Between the virality of the theme song from British indie pop outfit Kero Kero Bonito and the lingering questions of “What even is this game?”, Bugsnax has remained on the internet’s mind ever since. And now, we finally have a small snippet of actual gameplay footage to pore over for however long the wait is for more.
Shown during today’s PlayStation State of Play stream, the new trailer gives us a glimpse at the first-person gameplay involving tracking and capturing the titular Bugsnax, interacting with the citizens of Snaktooth Island and more. It’s a brief look, but we do also get some more context for the game’s overarching story as well. To say the whole thing looks suitably bonkers would be an understatement. I cannot wait.

Bugsnax is slated to release later this year for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
