Fntastic’s Latest Video Shows Off The Development History Of The Day Before

See how The Day Before started out

Fntastic has published a short six-minute video that highlights the improvement in its open-world survival MMO The Day Before since it entered development four years ago.

The video shows off the game at various stages of development, including the initial build, which had a winter setting and featured cartoon-esque visuals before the team moved away from that.

Dana Soltangazinova, a Fntastic Communications Team Member, says in the video that the studio revamped the game’s graphics in 2020, remaking animations and the sound and lighting design from scratch to “make it more grounded and realistic.”

Soltangazinova goes on to say that the announcement trailer was a “defining moment” for the studio, as it made them realise The Day Before wasn’t just their dream game, it was a dream game for many others as well.

Sadly the video doesn’t show any new gameplay footage of The Day Before, so if you’re hoping to see some new content you’re out of luck.

Fntastic and The Day Before has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, with the studio delaying the title from March to November due to a trademark issue, although it planned to delay the game anyway. Furthermore, the studio dropped 10 minutes of gameplay recently and it did little to convince people that the game would actually release in November or live up to expectations.

What did you make of the video? Let us know in the comments or on social media.

The Day Before will release on November 10 on PC.
