To celebrate the launch of Forza Horizon 5, Xbox Australia and New Zealand has parachuted a Polaris buggy filled with copies of the game from a helicopter into the middle of rural Victoria. Once the vehicle had touched down from its 4,500 ft (1.37km) descent, its driver jumped out from the same height, hopped in the Polaris, and started driving it around the countryside like it was just your everyday video game launch day.
This amazing stunt was inspired by the game’s ‘Initial Drive’ opening sequence which sees several of the game’s vehicles – including the cover cars, the Mercedes-AMG ONE and the 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands – parachuted into the Mexican wilderness.
All of this was to commemorate the release of Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Cloud Gaming. We were very fond of the game in our review, giving it an 8.5 and stating:
“Playground Games has displayed technical wizardry with this game and while it doesn’t change the formula to any significant extent, the experience found within Forza Horizon 5 is killer.”
