Futurama Returns With Fortnite Collaboration

Woop woop woop woop woop

The seemingly endless rebirth cycle cartoon Futurama makes its strangest return to screens yet in the latest collaboration with Epic Games’ Fortnite. Right now you can jump into the Fortnite item shop and grab yourself a variety of outfits and Back Blings based on the cult hit show from the creators of The Simpsons. The crossover comes as Futurama makes one final comeback to streaming service Hulu this month, marking another notch in the show’s complicated broadcast history.

There are currently three outfits based on the show available for purchase, each with its own alt style and complimentary Back Bling. The headliner is Bender, most people’s favourite crass robot from the series, who is able to sport his gold Universe 1 alternate look along with adorable Ben Rodríguez on his back. Joining him are Fry and Leela, both also equipped with Universe 1 variant looks and Hypnotoad and Nibler Back Bling respectively.

Alongside the outfits and bling, you’ll also be able to nab a few pickaxe options from the store, including an Unbendable Girder, Giant Nutcracker, and Solid Gold Fiddle. For those looking to drop onto the island in style, you can also grab yourself the Planet Express Ship glider, which is both huge and gaudy in the game, a perfect representation to be honest. Once you’re on the island there’s another little Futurama treat too in the form of Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun, an energy weapon I died to almost immediately.

There’s also a perfect Zoidberg Scuttle emote that took me right back to my time watching the show. For a closer look at the content and some general updates on the latest Fortnite patch, check out the official blog.
