Hot off the press

If the announcement of Gran Turismo 7‘s delay got you down, well we have just the news that will pick you right back up.

Mattel and Milestone have today announced Hot Wheels Unleased, the latest arcade racing game to utilise the famous toy racing cars. It’s scheduled to launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X&S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 30, 2021. Players can pre-order the game today with the Standard Edition priced at $69.95, the Collectors Edition $99.95, and the Ultimate Stunt Edition $129.95.

Hot Wheels Unleashed will feature the brand’s iconic orange tracks and will see players drift, boost, jump and crash in both single-player and offline and online multiplayer races. Players will be able to customise their vehicles with various skins, as well as craft their own tracks with the game’s track editor that they can share with the Hot Wheels community online.

Of the announcement, Andrew Chan, Head of Digital Gaming, Mattel says that “Hot Wheels is all about encouraging the challenger spirit and Hot Wheels Unleashed brings that mission to life for gamers of all ages. Milestone’s expertise in racing game development has enabled us to transform the Hot Wheels brand into a compelling console and PC gaming experience for both current Hot Wheels fans and gamers who may be rediscovering the iconic brand.”
