Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged Formally Announced Via Banger Trailer

Little cars, big action

A sequel to the radical Hot Wheels Unleashed has been revealed with a stellar trailer that shows off some massive action for tiny cars – with developer Milestone exploding Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged onto the scene.

Touting an impressive 130 vehicles to collect and race on launch, the game also features a range of new environments and terrain types to speed across at micro scale – shown off in the trailer by way of a killer suburban backyard segment. Mechanics have also taken a shift, with the addition of both a “lateral dash” to rapidly reposition and a dedicated jump button to soar over hazards or forge a new path to victory. Oh, and in case you were wondering – yes, that dash move can absolutely be used as a brutal shove during heart pounding neck-and-neck gameplay.

The game will also see a proper story-driven career mode as a further addition, starring 4 characters that make their way through the toyetic world of Hot Wheels – complete with animated cutscenes!

We previously reviewed the original Hot Wheels Unleashed, giving it some hot kudos for being a fun arcade racer (and sporting a score of 7.5) – and this follow up looks to build on everything that was laid as a foundation in that title. Arcade racers tend to be a joyful experience, and everything promised in Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged looks to be a slam dunk – so keep your calendar open for a fun experience come October 19.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
