As spotted by the folks over at Push Square, Gran Turismo 7‘s GT Campaign, among other features, will require an internet connection to play.
The PlayStation Blog post announcing the March 4 release date for GT7 contains a whole number of exciting details about the upcoming racing sim, but some sneaky asterisks delivered some news that will be rough for some. The GT Campaign, GT Auto, GT Café and a number of Legendary Circuits will require players to be online to experience them. Stranger still, Scapes, the robust photo mode, and the Livery Editor will also be locked behind the same requirement.
This doesn’t come as a massive surprise, as GT Sport was also very heavily dependant on an internet connection, but it does mean that GT fans without a stable internet source are going to have a pretty racer that’s very thin on content.
Gran Turismo 7 releases on PS5 and PS4 on March 4, 2022.
