Horizon Forbidden West’s 2022 Release Date Has Been Revealed

A slight delay

Out of nowhere, PlayStation has dropped the release date for Horizon Forbidden West during Geoff Keighley’s Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation, and sadly it’s a little bit of a delay.

As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the game is now set to release next year on February 18, 2022. Guerilla’s Game Director, Mathijas de Jonge describes the challenges of the global pandemic as having impacted development to the point where the team felt it necessary to push the game out of 2021 to ensure that both the game meets their quality standards and that the team has a healthy work/life balance.

Horizon Forbidden West will be available to pre-order on both PS5 and PS4 as of September 1st.

In other exciting Horizon news, a new patch has stealth dropped for Horizon Zero Dawn that brings enhanced 60fps performance to the PS4 title when played on PS5 via backwards compatibility. The update is live now for free for all players.
