For all of the fantastic, next-gen features packed into the shiny new PlayStation 5, one thing has irked early adopters over anything else – the console’s half-baked digital storefront. It looks nice and performs better than the previous iteration, but it’s proven much more difficult to use to find certain things or discover new ones.
Out of everything, the biggest complaint thus far has been the lack of a dedicated section for the current PlayStation Store sales. The big January sale was a clear indication of this, with a seemingly random shot that a link to the sale might appear on some users’ dashboards based on their user algorithms, while others were left with no way to see the sale unless they browsed the store on a secondary device like a tablet or PC.
Today, that issue has seemingly come to an end with the PS5’s on-console digital storefront gaining a brand-new tab specifically to house the latest deals. You can see it in the screenshot above from my own console, highlighting the new Remasters & Retro sale as well as the latest Weekly Deal.
It’s a small win for PlayStation 5 owners, but a significant improvement in user experience and it’s sure to also bring relief to developers and publishers whose visibility was otherwise suffering.
