Indigenous Designed NBA 2K22 Sneakers Going Up For Auction With Proceeds Going To Charity

One of a kind

2K Australia has announced that it has collaborated with Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri Indigenous artist Allan McKenzie to design a one-off pair of Adidas Harden Stepback 2.0 NBA 2k22-inspired sneakers for charity.

Indigenous charity Red Dust will be auctioning off the sneakers via eBay, with all the proceeds from the sale helping their mission of working together to enrich lives, improve health and strengthen the future of Indigenous youth and families.

“I’m honoured that 2K asked me to collaborate on one of their most popular games, which drove most of the inspiration behind the design of the shoe along with the game of basketball,” said McKenzie. While Red Dust CEO Scott Stirling stated that “Basketball is deeply embedded in Red Dust’s history.”

The auction will kick off on February 21 at 12pm AEDT and will run until March 2, 12pm AEDT.
