It’s safe to say that 2020 has been a rough year, and while some have had it much worse than others, almost everyone has had their share of ups and downs, which has impacted many peoples mental health.
Melbourne-based all-woman studio Lumi Interactive today announced their newest project – a mobile game (iOS and Android) titled Kinder World that aims to improve peoples well-being by doing light activities and growing procedurally-generated houseplants.
Lumi Interactive co-founder Lauren Clinnick tweeted some more information about the game and the reasons for its creation, which you can read below:
Here's something i'm really proud of: Every plant grows with procedural generation over time, so every one is unique! Here's a quick timelapse. 🥰
There are, of course, rare variegations to discover, and a lot of future plant types. 👀 pic.twitter.com/9q0f76eLva

We're making Kinder World because it can be *very* hard to work on being compassionate with ourselves, especially after a year like 2020.
If you've struggled to make a habit with meditation or mindfulness apps, we're making this game for *exactly* you!
💖We hope you like it!💖 pic.twitter.com/z4F9iEB9yX
