European online store ProGamingShop may have revealed the release date for Sony and Naughty Dog’s upcoming sequel blockbuster The Last of Us Part II.
According to the web store, The Last of Us Part II will hit shelves on September 27, 2019, which given the recent murmurs that TLoU2 will launch in 2019 isn’t out of the realm of possibility. However, as always, take these rumours with a grain of post-apocalyptic salt.
It’s hard to gauge whether this date could be on the money or not. Outside of Days Gone (April 26), all of Sony’s AAA exclusives are dateless, and with nothing set for the peak end of year period, perhaps Sony will want one of its heavy hitters to boost its coffers for the 19/20 fiscal year. On the other hand, the game’s director Neil Druckmann tweeted only days ago that motion capture had wrapped up. So perhaps a release date of five months away is a touch ambitious?
Either way, it’s looking likely that TLoU2 will be the next cab off Sony’s AAA exclusive rank.
