League Of Geeks Announce The 70s Sci-Fi Anime-Inspired Jumplight Odyssey

This could be your space jam

Melbourne-based developer League of Geeks has announced its newest title – Jumpship Odyssey, a 70s sci-fi anime-inspired roguelite starship adventure sim.

The game will be released in Early Access on Steam in 2023, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions to come post-Early Access.

Jumplight Odyssey’s elevator pitch is this:

Take the helm of a Jumplight Starship as it flees its destroyed homeworld and lead your people to their salvation, the fabled Forever Star. Chart a course forward, jump to mysterious new systems, recruit crew members, and build out the ship’s interior while avoiding space pirate attacks, black holes, and the relentless pursuit of Admiral Voltan and the warmongering Zutopans in a roguelite colony sim inspired by genre staples and classic 70s sci-fi anime.

On the game’s announcement, Trent Kusters, Co-Founder and Director, League of Geeks had this to say:

“Jumplight Odyssey marries the aesthetic of iconic sci-fi anime with colony management sims and roguelite sensibilities to create a charming and challenging experience. Whether you’re interested in space opera melodrama between crew members, careful resource management, colony building systems, or “just one more run” action, Jumplight Odyssey has something for everyone, and we’re thrilled to recruit captains for our Early Access launch in 2023!”
