Hope you weren’t getting too comfy in the realm of Outland – things have gotten a little dead and/or chilly in your absence.
The Wrath of the Lich King Pre-Patch is rolling out across World of Warcraft: Classic realms, shifting the formula in preparation for the proper expansion rollout.

While you can’t yet visit the frozen Northrend continent, or make rude gestures at Arthas himself – there is still plenty to do!
For example:
- Level your Death Knight! In true Classic fashion, the pre-patch content was shuffled a little to allow existing players the ability to play a new class prior to the expansion dropping – so they do not end up starting on the back foot. Go make yourself a plague-chucking melee monster now!
- Fight back against the Scourge Invasion! Enjoy hordes of undead sweeping across the countryside, with the added benefit of infecting you and your closest friends with a horrible plague – possibly leaving capital cities a corpse-laden wasteland. Fun!
- Level Inscription! Now you can crank out some Glyphs for players to put in their new character slots, boosting and amending how some core class abilities work.
- ACHIEVEMENTS! Get that sweet rush of dopamine when you achieve something in game! You can track your progress on all kinds of stuff, from dungeons bosses to exploration – it’s a great time filler.
- Brewfest is back! I mean, it’s not strictly Wrath of the Lich King content, but it’s fun to drink and dress up in funny hats.
