Microsoft Unveils The Xbox Adaptive Controller

Pretty good move by Microsoft

Earlier this week various news outlets reported on a leaked image which showed a different looking controller being made for the Xbox One. Reports suggested that this new controller was made with accessibility in mind, with the hopes of allowing people who suffer from various disabilities to more easily play games.

Well it seems like these leaks were true and this morning Microsoft unveiled their new Xbox Adaptive Controller.

Forged with user research through new partnerships (including The AbleGamers Charity, The Cerebral Palsy Foundation, SpecialEffect, Warfighter Engaged, Craig Hospital, and many community members) that aim to make gaming more accessible, this new controller benefits gamers with limited mobility who may experience difficulty gaming with traditional controllers.

Currently the only known price is the US pricing of $99 USD but the Australian pricing should soon follow,
