More Titles Are Being Added To Xbox Game Pass In August 2023

Is it just me, or are the days actually filled with a bit of sunshine as of late? I’ve actually been getting outside a bit during lunch breaks and after work, how great is that? Anyway, enough of the outside world, let’s play some games, shall we?

The ever-reliable second update of the month is on the horizon for Xbox Game Pass, following a terrific indie offering in the first half of August. As revealed on Xbox Wire, a further four games are being added to Xbox Game Pass between now and September 5.

Here are all of the games being added to Xbox Game Pass in the back half of August 2023:

August 17

• Firewatch (Console, PC, Cloud)

August 18

• The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Console, PC, Cloud)

August 29

• Sea of Stars (Console, PC, Cloud)

September 5

• Gris (Console, PC, Cloud)

And in an effort to make James cry, a small handful of games are leaving the service, including one of Mr Woods’ favourite games of last year. Here are all of the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in August:

August 31

• Black Desert (Console, Cloud)
• Commandos 3 – HD Remaster (Console, PC, Cloud)
• Immortality (Console, PC, Cloud)
• Nuclear Throne (Console, PC, Cloud)
• Surgeon Simulator 2 (Console, PC, Cloud)
• Tinykin (Console, PC, Cloud)

This second attempt update features not one, but two day-one release titles in Sea of Stars and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A traditional RPG and an asymmetric horror multiplayer game couldn’t be further apart on the gaming spectrum, but having them both launch on Game Pass on release is a pretty awesome get. Both Firewatch and Gris (which we gave an 8) are exceptional, beautiful games as well, so please give them some love when they hit the service.
