New Kingdom Hearts III Screenshots Show Off Twilight Town, Olympus

Tight in the toga

Seems like somebody up at Square Enix HQ keeps accidentally sitting on the ‘post screenshots’ button lately because fans have just been treated to not one, but two new sets of screens from the upcoming and much-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III.

The first lot of shots shows Sora, Donald and Goofy hanging out with their Twilight Town buddies Hayner, Pence and Olette, and tangling with a whole bloody swarm of heartless. We also see a bit of Ienzo. I have to say, everyone is looking mighty fine in the new engine, although Nomura seems to have developed a new love for plaid? That’s totally fine.

The second dose of sweet screen-age features some Olympian action with Hercules and co. It’s exciting to think that we’ll be able to see more of Olympus than just the coliseum this time around, too. Honestly, the best thing about Kingdom Hearts III is just going to be seeing all of these classic Disney characters in a whole, stunning new way. Seriously, look at these images of Herc with Zeus (aka daddy), Hades and Pegasus:

And just in case you missed it, here is the most recent trailer for the game, from TGS 2018:

January can’t come soon enough, if you ask me. With roughly three months to go until we hear that mysterious new Skrillex and Utada Hikaru theme song play and finally sink our teeth into the game, let’s hope Square Enix pump out a few more of these tasty updates in the meantime!
