With MK11’s Kombat Pack DLC finally wrapping up, many players were left wondering might be coming next. Most people expected a reveal of a second Kombat Pack chock full of new characters, but instead received a teaser that shook up expectations fiercely.
The video clearly takes places at the very end of the story mode, when suddenly the ending sequence is rudely interrupted by Shang Tsung:
A few notes that make this interesting:
- The Mortal Kombat franchise has never included proper STORY MODE DLC!
- Shang Tsung, the only revealed character in the teaser, is a Kombat Pack kharacter absent from the original MK11 story – flanked by two other masculine looking figures
- MK11’s story is so off the wall bonkers that there is no rule book for what could happen next, peoples expectations are running off the reservation
The full trailer is dated to drop within the next 24 hours, and it’s amazing that this teaser has managed to sneak out and surprise absolutely everyone with it’s content. I am ultra keen to see what on earth the NetherRealm guys manage to cook up!
The epic saga continues. Don’t miss the reveal on May 6.
