Paramount Pictures Announces A Third Sonic the Hedgehog Film And…A Knuckles TV Show?!

More Idris Elba for all!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is just around the corner, but we already have some great news for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – it’s already in development!

Announced today to media outlets, both SEGA and Paramount pictures are more than happy to eschew any bush beating and just flat out confirm that Sonic will have a trilogy (at least) of big screen adventures.

However the most incredible news is the additional announcement of a Paramount+ TV show based on the Sonic property – featuring Knuckles the Echidna, voiced by Idris Elba.

Neal Moritz, producer spoke about the potential of the TV and Cinema offerings:

“The world of Sonic the Hedgehog has been capturing imaginations for decades, and we are thrilled to stretch the limits of what this franchise is capable of with world-class offerings both on the big screen and for Sonic fans at home. The sky is truly the limit, and I am immensely proud to be part of creating new Sonic content for longtime fans as well as introducing Sonic to a new generation.”

Now we just need to swallow the cost of ANOTHER streaming services to enjoy all the BLUE BLUR has to offer. To be honest, it will likely be a small price to pay to hear the honeyed tones of Idris Elba as everyone’s favourite gem hunting Aussie anteater.
