PlayStation has revealed the Australian pricing for the PlayStation Plus tiers after the increase on September 6. The PlayStation Plus tiers will increase to the following in Australia:

$95.95 AUD
PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription
$169.95 AUD
PlayStation Plus Deluxe 12-Month Subscription
$196.95 AUD

PlayStation has announced that all tiers of the PlayStation Plus subscription service will increase in price from September 6.
The announcement came from the PlayStation Blog as part of the monthly Essentials reveal post, with the statement claiming the bump in price will “enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service.”
There’s no Australian pricing for us to share at this stage, but the blog post outlined the increase in other markets, with an increase of $40 US coming to the Premium tier. Here are the new international prices for the PlayStation Plus tiers:

We won’t know the full damage until Australian pricing is revealed, as the conversion isn’t one-to-one, but with the US figures increasing by $20 US for Essential, $35 US for Extra, and $40 US for Premium, it looks like we are in for a rough hike.
For those with active 12-month subscriptions, the new pricing structure won’t take effect until your next renewal after November 6.
There are plenty of factors that undoubtedly come into play, including the increased price of games, rising development costs and so on, but those prices are substantial and might very well drive away those who were already on the fence when it comes to whether or not PlayStation’s tiered service was worth it in the first place.
