Pump The Brakes, Gran Turismo 7 Has Been Delayed To 2022

Still needs more time in the garage

Racing game fans who have been hanging out for the release of Gran Turismo 7 will have to wait a little longer with Sony revealing that the game is no longer releasing in 2021 and has been delayed until 2022.

The revelation came during GQ’s interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Jim Ryan, with a PR representative giving the following statement when Ryan was asked if Gran Turismo 7 was still on track for release in 2021.

GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.

It’s a massive bummer for fans of the series, especially given it is the series’ debut on Sony’s newest hardware and we’re currently lacking a high-profile racing game for the PS5. Hopefully Sony’s other projects aren’t affected too much by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
