A few short days ago, the Ratchet & Clank series turned 20. I almost missed the festivities, but thankfully the PlayStation Blog had a write up celebrating the incredible tales of the Lombax known as Ratchet and his pocket-sized robot pal Clank.
I personally had beef with the series a long time ago, when a much younger and far less bearded Ash thought the series was a direct competitor and threat to Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter series. Luckily I got over that absurd line of thinking early on, and realise that they both own a colossal amount of bones.
As part of the celebration, a title update has been applied to the PS5 entry of the series Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – with a slew of gorgeous outfits from games past, and a lightly bizarre to behold Clank cosplay:
- Commando Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
- Holoflux Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
- Quest Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty
- Marauder Armor inspired by Ratchet: Deadlocked
- Clank Armor to celebrate the greatest of pals

Don’t make the same mistake I did, and pour over the PlayStation store seeking a DLC pack – the fashion goodies are simply available in game once you update the title.

The blog post also does far more than simply announce goodies – it has a fantastic write up and a gorgeous collection of media to look over all the talented work that helped shape the impressive Ratchet & Clank universe.
But, if you are really only there for announcements – you can be pleased to know that more R&C titles are coming to PlayStation Plus Premium on November 15. It is safe to assume this is via the streaming service that we poor Aussie folk can’t access, but perhaps in the future we can get our mitts on:

I have long since 100%’d Rift Apart, and now sit dreaming of a DLC pack that perhaps gives me a taste of Rivet’s past – but the added fashionista goodies will be appreciated for when I inevitably treat myself to a a new playthrough.
