Rebirth Is A Photorealistic Unreal Engine 4 Cinematic That Will Make Your Eyes Bleed

Prepare to pick your jaw up off the floor

Prepare to bear witness to quite possibly, one of the slickest looking game engine tech demos to grace our eyes to date.

Using UE4, The wizards over at Quixel have just released Rebirth, a real-time cinematic that came to life melding real-world scans of Iceland from the burgeoning Quixel Megascans library, a sprinkle of ray-tracing and the ever growing power of the Unreal Engine to create what looks like some crazy Prometheus and Blade Runner crossover.

There is some basic machine/human hybrid narrative bumbling here, but that isn’t the point. Simply feast your eyes on what is more than possible when the ecosystem of graphical technology joins forces and gives us a glimpse at the kind of things we could be exploring as gamers within years.
