Reminder That Judgment’s Early Digital Launch Is In A Week

It’s no secret that we love our Yakuza here at WellPlayed. We scored the last two entries, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 an 8.5 and a 9/10, respectively and thoroughly enjoyed Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s other recent effort Fist of the North Star immensely.

No surprise then that we’ve been eagerly anticipating the Western release of the new Yakuza spinoff, Judgment since its announcement last year.

If you’ve been following us, you’ll no doubt already know that Judgment’s release is a little bit unique in that fans who preorder the game digitally through PSN will be able to start playing next Friday July 21, a full four days ahead of the actual release date of Tuesday July 25. If this is news to you or you’d forgetten, well, consider this your final reminder.

Preorder Judgment on the PlayStation Network Store here and start playing four days early!

Unfortunately, while we’ve always brought you our in-depth reviews of these games as soon as the global embargo allows, we weren’t able to secure review code this time around. We’ll be sure to share our thoughts over in our Facebook community and on the weekly WellPlayed DLC podcast, though!

Kieron started gaming on the SEGA Master System, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy. The 20-odd years of his life since have not seen his love for platformers falter even slightly. A separate love affair, this time with JRPGs, developed soon after being introduced to Final Fantasy VIII (ie, the best in the series). Further romantic subplots soon blossomed with quirky Japanese games, the occasional flashy AAA action adventure, and an unhealthy number of indie gems. To say that Kieron lies at the center of a tangled, labyrinthine web of sexy video game love would be an understatement.
