It’s Christmas time, which means spending time with family, great food and, of course, a Revolution Software Christmas video. And this year’s delivers a nice little Christmas treat, with Revolution Software main man Charles Cecil teasing a reforged version of Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror.
In the video below, Cecil gives his thanks to those who helped Revolution smash its Kickstarter funding goal for Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged, a 4K remaster of the 1996 classic point-and-click game, while sharing some details about its development.
However, it’s the end of the video that will have people excited, with Cecil pouring over Broken Sword artwork until pausing on a particular drawing while making an expressive face. The image is then displayed, and it’s a picture of George from Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror. As they say, actions speak louder than words.
Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror first released on October 14, 1997, for PlayStation and PC. A remastered version was released for PC and iOS devices in 2010, and Android in 2012, which added some new features and additional content, such as a digital comic from Dave Gibbons.
Time will tell if Revolution brings a potential reforged Broken Sword II to Kickstarter, but given the first game’s success it makes sense, and no doubt it will have another smashing campaign.
