The spooky season is upon us folks and that means we’re starting to see in-game Halloween events pop up in a whole host of games. Pumpkins and spiders aplenty, October’s event offerings are often my favourite of any given year. Getting into the scary spirit, Rocket League’s Haunted Hallows event is back, allowing players to nab a bunch of free items.
In the past, Haunted Hallows included your typical Halloween trinkets such as ghastly wheels and ghoulish toppers, but last year we were graced with an awesome Stranger Things crossover. The crossover trend is continuing, as this year’s Haunted Hallows event is Ghostbusters-themed. The event is live between October 21 and November 3, meaning that it’s live right now so get boosting.
There are a total of ten Ghostbusters goodies to get your hands on, each of which can be unlocked by completing an in-game challenge:
- Stay Puft Topper – Get ten saves or epic saves in online matches
- Ghostbusters Player Banner – Get five goals, assists or saves in online matches
- Ecto-1 Player Banner – Get three assist in online matches
- Ghostbusters Avatar Border – Use the “Nice Shot!” or “Okay.” quick chats in ten online matches
- Mood Slime Boost – Gain three XP levels
- Ectoplasm Boost – Score five total goals in online matches
- Slimer Topper – Get ten assists in online matches
- Stay Puft Wheels – Win two online matches in a row
- Ghostbusters Wheels – Earn two MVP honours in online matches
- Ghost Trapper Topper – Get 20 centers or clears in online matches
None of the challenges are particularly difficult, so as long as you jump online and smash out a few matches between now and November 3 you should be able to scoop them all up easily. Additionally, there will be a number of Halloween-themed items in the in-game store for purchase, such as Ecto-1, Stay Puft Goal Explosion, Vampire Bat Goal Explosion and Crimson Reaper Goal Explosion.
