Sifu Gets A March Release Date For Xbox And Stream Alongside The Free Arenas Expansion

The huge update is almost here

Developer Sloclap has announced that its Kung Fu brawler Sifu will release on Xbox and Steam on March 28, coinciding with the free Arenas Mode expansion launch.

Originally released exclusively on PlayStation and the Epic Games Store, the brutal brawler is finally heading to Xbox and Steam after making its way to the Switch in November of 2022. Also releasing on the 28th is the game’s fourth major update that introduces the Arenas Mode expansion.

The Arenas Mode gives players a new way to play, with nine new locations, five game modes and 45 challenges throughout, combined to bring an additional ten hours of playtime to the game. The five modes on offer will be Survival, Performance, Time Attack, Capture and Manhunt.

Survival does what it says on the tin, with waves of enemies being thrown at the player until they succumb to the challenge. Performance is similar, but it sees players attempting to rack up the highest score. Time Attack is, well, a race against time to mow through enemies in your way. The first of the two more unique modes, Capture, has the player capture a hold a designated point, forcing them to defend it with the tools they’re given. Lastly, Manhunt targets one specific enemy and surrounds them with powerful bodyguards, challenging the player to make their way to them and feed them a knuckle sandwich.

“A challenging brawler that punishes recklessness and demands perfection, Sifu’s genre-leading combat and roguelike mechanics blend together to create an early Game of the Year contender.”
