Konami has announced Silent Hill f, the next game in the long-running horror series.
The announcement was made during this morning’s Silent Hill Transmission stream, where the Silent Hill 2 remake was also revealed. Though details on the game are scarce, we do know that it’s being developed by the Chinese studio NeoBards Entertainment, the team behind Resident Evil: Resistance and RE: Verse, and that the story will be written by Japanese visual novelist Ryūkishi07.
Set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f is described as having a “beautiful, yet horrifying world,” which is depicted in the game’s short cinematic trailer. The trailer takes us through a gorgeous and unsettling Japanese landscape as a nasty fungus begins to claim the area. The true horror comes at the close of the cinematic, with the vision of a girl being overtaken by the fungus, with her face eventually peeling off in an incredibly awful way.
