The November Community Update has dropped over at the Focus Entertainment forums, giving Space Marine 2 players an update on all the exciting new features that have come with the Reclamation Update – but the whole thing leads with some hot new details on the games upcoming class.
That’s right, the post kicks off with a quick teaser regarding the Techmarine’s weapons and abilities before openly hitting us with a full frontal look at the bright red wrench wielder:
As a long time player of Warhammer 40,000 I can’t really fault the visuals – both the Techie and his weapon (the Omnissian Axe) look spot-on to what one would expect as a translation from model to videogame. The tastier morsels are the handful of gameplay hints that have been discussed, including:
- The wrench axe will of course have its own set of unique animations, finishers and progression
- The Techmarine has a Servo-Gun ability, activating it will enable the gun to automatically engage enemies
- The Techmarine has a passive ability to restore Tarantula Sentry Guns that can spawn on existing PvE levels
- A Chaos Techmarine will of course be coming to PvP
This is all music to my ears. A big honking melee weapon, with the ability to auto-shoot at enemies with a shoulder mounted boomstick? Sentry guns in the PvE missions? This class is tickling all my favourite brain meat.
The team also make mention that a PTR will be available for the Techmarine content patch, so players can get their mechanical manhandlers on the class to test and provide feedback.
Now, Patch 11 has only just released – so don’t go frothing at the mouth for this experience. The Year 2 Roadmap for the game has the Techmarine slated for Q1 of 2026, so that is a four month window to explore. Perhaps steel yourself and get through that Christmas season first – let the new year bring some Space Marine 2 excitement your way.
New year. New me. New class. Know what I mean?
What do you think of the Techmarine teaser? Does it tighten your bolts and twist your nuts? Tell us all about it in the comments or on social media.
