The full release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is barrelling towards us at a breakneck pace – and in the absence of further sizzle trailers or further reveals, the folks over at the Space Marine 2 team have seen fit to instead give people an idea of what to expect after the game is in our hot little hands.
In short, the game will be expanded via a range of fantastic free updates completely independent of any Season Pass model – because that bad boy is only for some cosmetic goodies to come at a later date. From the Focus Blog, Quote:
The Season Pass has been envisioned as a way to enhance your customisation for your character. All the gameplay additions listed here in the roadmap (including weapons, game modes, and maps) are intended to arrive in free game patches and will be accessible to everyone.

And what should people expect in these free game patches? Some exciting stuff to be honest, including:
- Season 2 content will be released between October and the end of the year, and will include a new Operations map, a new enemy, a harder difficulty level, a new weapon, and various other improvements
- Season 3 will be added throughout 2025, including New Operations, PvP maps, game modes like Horde Mode, and more
More Operations missions, enemies and weapons sound like just the ticket for the already fit-to-burst content offering within the game, especially when such a hefty component of the replayability is courtesy of those Co-operative missions. A Horde Mode in particular sounds like just the ticket for living out your Space Marine death fantasies as you and your mates heroically get overwhelmed by insurmountable odds. Bring it on.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches on September 10.
