Following Nintendo’s Direct dedicated exclusively to Super Mario Maker 2 (SMM2) last month, the general roar of enthusiasm and excitement for the game was marred by the realisation that online play with friends was not possible. A glaring oversight for a great looking game touting new multiplayer features.
This morning during Nintendo’s E3 Treehouse Live demonstration, however, the producer of SMM2 Takashi Tezuka has said the required words to put out the fire raging in the fan base. Online play with friends will be possible! Albeit through an update post-launch. Better late than never.
Super Mario Maker 2 is releasing on June 28th exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
