After years of being in development, The Cuphead Show! will finally release on Netflix on February 18, 2022. This 12-part animated series is based on the award-winning run and gun game Cuphead, which was originally released in 2017 and was developed by StudioMDHR.
The show’s dozen episodes will all launch at the same time and run for approximately 12-minutes each. The game’s original creators – brothers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer – have signed on as executive producers for The Cuphead Show! It will be directed by Adam Paloian who has previously worked on Spongebob and Clay Morrow who has been prolific across a variety of children’s animated series.
Netflix also released a brand new trailer for The Cuphead Show! highlighting the gorgeous 1930s-esque art style, the fast-paced slapstick humour, and the voice work by Tru Valentino and Frank Todaro who play Cuphead and his brother Mugman, respectively.
Meanwhile, fans of the game still have Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course to look forward to. Releasing on June 30 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, this final piece of DLC will include new levels, items, and a playable character in Ms. Chalice.
