The RoboCop Game Has A Gameplay Reveal Trailer Now

Nice shootin’ son

Action films of the 80’s are my jam, and if you ask me about RoboCop – I’ll tell you it’s the absolute JAM in my JELLY DONUT.

That joke works because we are talking about cops, and there is no finer officer in Detroit City than Alex Murphy. And now thanks to developer Teyon, we get to strap into the metal boots of the metal man of the hour, in RoboCop: Rogue City.

Take a look at the high calibre action below:

Recently, Teyon has managed to deliver a surprisingly robust experience in the form of Terminator: Resistance, with many fans saying it was a love letter to the franchise. Gameplay wise, it didn’t set anyone on fire – but a competent experience that captured the incredibly unique aesthetic of that universe is worth celebrating. And with RoboCop, they look to be offering a similarly slavish attention to detail. We see the corporate-grunge that defined Paul Verhoeven’s satirical take on over-commercialisation in a ‘modern’ era, with the actual gameplay looking to be bad-guy blasting aplenty.

Will the gameplay be up to snuff? The main issue with RoboCop as a character is that he is essentially an aimbot with legs – the real interest in his conflicts come from him being badly hurt and compromised to the point of weakness; so time will tell.

If nothing else, they have the original legend Peter Weller providing the voice of RoboCop – so it will likely be the best narrative experience since RoboCop 2 for authenticity.

Because we do not speak of RoboCop 3.
