Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remaster Announced

A classic duo return

A classic duo return

Shortly after it surfaced that Tony Hawk was sending out texts regarding the impending announcement of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remasters, Activision have today announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, a remastered collection of the classic games that contain the original maps, skaters and music (most of it at least).

Revealed officially during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, the trailer shows off the new graphics on display, while also boasting that almost all the original content will be available (some music tracks will not return), alongside an online multiplayer mode. Vicarious Visions, the team behind the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be developing the game. Considering that numerous staff members at Vicarious Visions are former Neversoft employees that worked on the original games, I feel like the game is in the hands of a team that understand how to handle the iconic titles.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 4 this year. Pre-ordering digitally will grant you access to the Warehouse Demo later in the year.

There was no confirmation on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, however it would be fair to assume that they could be announced at a later date.

I can’t wait to play the remaster later this year, as I’ve been aching for a quality skateboarding game for years (Give us Skate 4).
