Ubisoft Delays Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Indefinitely

Another Ubisoft delay

Originally released in 2003, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, was a hit – the people and critics loved it – which is why Ubisoft confirmed in September 2020 that they were remaking it. Originally set for release in January 2021, the remake was pushed back to March 2021, however this morning, Ubisoft India, the dev team working on the remake announced that the game had been delayed indefinitely.

The reason for the delay is what we’ve come to expect; that the extra development time will allow the developers to better achieve their vision for the game. You can read the statement in the below tweet:

It’s been a while between drinks for the series, with the last entry coming in 2010 in the form of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. While the remake isn’t a new game, it still gives fans a flicker of hope that Ubisoft hasn’t given up on the IP. Now where’s a new Splinter Cell?

The Sands of Time Remake will hit PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC at a “later date”.
