Warhammer Skulls Fest 2025 Has Landed, Bringing A Slew Of New Warhammer Video Game News

More Warhammer than you can point a paintbrush at

Warhammer Skulls has yet again dropped its mad menagerie of Warhammer gaming news upon us, deploying a heavy payload of gaming goodness for all manner of Warhammer-flavoured interactive media – with a few old-school surprises to really spice things up.

So strap in fellow plastic-crack enthusiast – let’s breathe in this bounty together.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

When Owlcat Games dropped their sweet CRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, it was lauded as being a rock-solid Warhammer 40k RPG experience. So of course, their next game will be… a rock-solid Warhammer 40k RPG experience. This time the spotlight will be shining on the shadowy secret police of the Imperium: the Inquisition.

Owlcat announced that its new game will build upon the great foundations of Rogue Trader, featuring complex investigations, the return of their turn-based combat system and player choices that will impact the dark times of Noctis Aeterna.

No release date has been mentioned, but you can always take a look at Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader to pass the time.

Coming to PC, Xbox, and Playstation 5.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Speaking of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader! More DLC will be coming to the game, with the second content drop Lex Imperialis getting a release date. Featuring a chonky 15 hours of additional gameplay, a new companion, the Familiars system and an entirely new faction: the Adeptus Arbites, who serve as heavily armoured super-police in the 41st millenium. Think Judge Dredd, but with a robot puppy friend.

Lex Imperialis is set to be released on June 24, 2025.

Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S.

Talisman Digital: 5th Edition

The 5th edition of Talisman: Digital is still cooking along, with a huge update bringing five familiar classes back to the experience – with the Druid, Minstrel. Ranger, Swordsman, and Jester making the jump across from Talisman: Digital Classic Edition. There is also a proper expansion featuring a co-op experience coming as a paid DLC, so if you want to turn your Talis-man experience into a Talis-men (Talis-Friends?) adventure, keep an eye out for Alliances: Fate Beckons.

Alliances: Fate Beckons is set to be released on June 18, 2025.

Coming to PC (Steam).

Total War: Warhammer 3 – Tides of Torment

Total War: Warhammer 3 got a little sizzle trailer to hype people up for new content coming soon(ish), Some magical mischief saw our snake-staff mate meld his colleagues into a flesh-borne abomination. Sure, sounds Warhammer-y enough for me. Norsca baby.

No release date mentioned just yet, but there will be an additional video drop on the official Total War YouTube Channel to get you up to speed.

Warhammer 40,ooo and Typing.

That’s right, it is a type-to-kill game where you must successfully navigate words and phrases on the screen to dispatch your foes, ala The Typing of the Dead. The nichest of niches, this amazing gift is available for free, right now on Steam.

Rev up your mechanical keyboard and slay your foes with perfect fingertip accuracy.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2

Not content with just releasing a new typing-trainer, Auroch Digital of course confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is on its way. The boomer-shooter sequel enjoyed a micro trailer to show off a couple of new foes for Malum Caedo to dispatch, confirming that his chainsword still works just fine.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios revealeda new look at Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2, showing off the conflict between the Adeptus Mechanicus and the ancient Necron forces that seek to destroy them. A cool reveal was that the somewhat-new dwarvish faction will be joining the game, so you can enjoy the Leagues of Votann as an ally. This is their first appearance in a Warhammer 40k game to my knowledge, so that’s a ripper.

No release date as yet.

Fatshark reveals that the last chapter of the Verminous Dreams adventure is nigh, with the Well of Dreams under threat. Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks

The insane Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is leaving early access and having a reasonably big shuffle in monetisation, seemingly dropping F2P plans and turning itself into a cheap, accessible buy-and-play experience. If you played the early access version, the great news is that you will get a full copy for free – so strap in to your ramshackle trukk and ram some mates. There really is nothing quite like it.

The creators of the popular Supremacy 1914 game are trying their hand at the 41st millenium, with the brutal Supremacy: Warhammer 40,000 coming to Android. Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Players of Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector can look forward to the start of a new narrative campaign starring the Adepta Sororitas, with the Black Legion being revealed as the newest faction to join the game further down the line.

Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge – The Emperor’s Children

With a sultry voice and words that make you feel downright uncomfortable, Lucius the Eternal announces that The Emperor’s Children are joining Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge today. Seems like a cool card battler, and the creepy dudes are a good fit – but I haven’t played it. Maybe you have? Tell me if it is good.

Out now.

Coming to PC, Android and iOs.

Warhammer 40,000: Horus Heresy Legions

Much like above, Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions is a card battler focused on the pseudo-prequel world of Warhammer 30k. The shattered legions have arrived, so build your deck and punch some old-timey nerds in the face, card style.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – Arbites Class

An entirely new character class is coming to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide! Mentioned earlier as part of the Rogue Trader DLC, it looks that the Adeptus Arbites will also step into the underhive of Tertium to deploy their unique brand of shotgun-based justice.

Oh, and OF COURSE they will also bring their robo-hound assistant. The best cyber-boy.

Coming to PC, PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S.

Warhammer 40,000 X Rust

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

Warhammer 40,000 is coming to the open-world survival crafting game, Rust. Not really on my bingo card, I am still deeply interested due to the amount of Rust-based content I consume on YouTube.

From the official Warhammer blog, players can look forward to “equipping iconic Warhammer 40,000 cosmetic skins to their character, their base and their crafted weapons, with a Death Korps of Krieg Pack – showcasing a perfect synergy of Rust’s dark brutality, and the Krieg’s unrelenting fanatical nature.”

Sure. Why not.

Coming at some point, no date mentioned.

Coming to PC.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: Siege Mode

An entirely new PvE game mode is making its way to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Siege will pit players against an endless swarm of Tyranids on the surface of Kadaku, with ramping terrors and an eventual glorious death. Only in death does duty end, so make that duty an awesome one.

Players will also get to customise their marines in the iconography if both the White Scars and the Blood Angels, as two more cosmetic packs round out the season pass offerings.

Coming June 26.

Available on PC, PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Definitive Edition

To round out the presentation, a quick 2-hit punch of nostalgia was waiting to cave in my nosebone – with the first amazing reveal being that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is getting a definitive edition release. Not quite a full remaster, the game is still getting a massive amount of upgraded visuals, HUD, camera, and more to bring this classic strategy game to a new generation of fans.

One of the coolest things mentioned in this news is that the game “has been rebuilt on a 64-bit platform to support the ongoing efforts of the modding community, while remaining compatible with over 20 years of lovingly crafted mods already available”, meaning that a goofy mod I assisted with so many years ago will still work. I provided voice acting for a special super unit a team of modders added to the game.

No, I will not say which one.

No release date as yet.

Available on PC.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition

Heck YES, the original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine returns with all new enhancements via a Master Crafted Edition. The game was no slouch in the modern age, but the idea of full 4k visuals, updated textures and character models, remastered audio, and a modernised UI and control scheme sound positively delicious to get any fence sitters up to date on what came before Space Marine II.

A question I have is whether it will be made freely available to existing owners of Space Marine – the Steam listing for the game does seem to have it as an independent product. If they can modernise and get people playing the multiplayer component for the game, I’d be entirely on board to buy it again.

Planned Release Date: June 11, 2025.

Available on PC.
