We Finally Have A Glimpse Of Sophie Turner As Lara Croft For Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV Show

Some show-stealing shades

After a pretty spectacular return from the dead, the Amazon Tomb Raider TV Series continues its trend of being very much alive – now with an official look at Sophie Turner’s outfit for a jaunt into a tomb or two:

It is a classic Lara Croft look – right down to the rosy red shades that I must admit did not occur to me as a remote possibility.

Pistols? Check. Blue top? Check. Mandatory tomb raiding harness strap-things? Double check. It passes the vibe check, and may speak volumes to how authentic this series may hope to be.

The rest of the cast has also been shown off online, with some big names to round out Lara’s associates:

A mixture of canon cast members and new, the roles include:

  • Jason Isaacs as Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle
  • Sigourney Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a mysterious woman who wishes to exploit Lara’s talents.
  • Celia Imrie will play Francine, the Head of Advancement at the British Museum
  • Martin Bobb-Semple will play Zip, Lara Croft’s long-standing tech support friend
  • Bill Paterson will play Winston, the Croft family butler
  • Jack Bannon will play Gerry, Lara’s personal pilot
  • John Heffernan will play David, a government official
  • Paterson Joseph will play Thomas Warner, a senior government official
  • Sasha Luss will play Sasha, a new rival of Lara
  • Juliette Motamed will play Georgia, a curator at the British Museum
  • August Wittgenstein will play Lukas, a raider who shares history with Lara

Full production of the series as of January this year, so don’t wait around for an air date – this dish still has the lions share of cooking to be done. We’ll keep an eye on things as they develop, and stay hungry for our first glimpse of TV-borne Lara eventually.

Are you excited at seeing Lara Croft on the silver screen? Secret hoping she will fight dinosaurs in a cave somewhere? Tell us all about it in the comments or on social media.
