We Finally Have A Peek At The Overwatch 2 X Cowboy Bebop Collab

Hello space cowboy

After getting a very succinct teaser and confirmation as part of the Overwatch 2 Season 9 content roll out, we finally get to see just what is on the cards for the Cowboy Bebop crossover event.

While we don’t see any in-game detail, what we do get is a slick jazz-filled animation mirroring the styles of the anime – just with some familiar faces filling the roles.

Say hello to Spike Cassidy, Faye Valentine Ashe, Jet Black Mauga and Ed Sombra!

Classy animation aside, we do see some really cool character skins in the making – particularly on the part of Sombra, who always seems to default to a cyberpunk sorta-goth. The Ed skins looks to be a great deal more scrappy and charming – perfectly suiting the anime equivalent. They have also announced that the Ein skin for Wrecking Ball will be a free unlock, so if you aren’t inclined to part with your pennies you can still get in on the action.

Word is out that a proper gameplay reveal will happen on March 12, meaning that players will get a proper look at the in-game version of these concepts and may even get a look at whatever game mode may possibly anchor the event. Something with a great backing track of saxophones, surely.

Are you a Cowboy Bebop fan? How do you like the animated homage to its opening? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
