We Love Bowser Singing, But King K. Rool Deserves Love Too

The King of the Kremlings has a set of pipes on him

Look, Bowser has a real belter of a tune with Peaches –  but what of the other high-profile Nintendo villains?

Well, if you are a discerning enjoyer of reptiles, you may be a fan of Donkey Kong’s original nemesis – the Kremling King, K. Rool. And what if he had his own incredible musical number? Well, the news is good – and you could watch it without even paying the cost of a movie ticket!

Alex Henderson is a freelance animator with a distinct style that lends quite well to bringing humanoid crocodiles to life – and he has done just that with an incredible collaborative effort that sees the King make a grand return to his ape-disliking ways.

I really can’t describe it in a way that does it justice – I can only recommend setting some time aside to enjoy all 10 minutes of it’s brilliance:

Beyond the incredible work of Alex himself, the audio at play includes supreme talent from every angle. Did you know the project saw the return actors reprising their roles from the original DKC cartoon? It is an absolutely mind blowing effort from every avenue – the animation, music and voice work are all stellar.

It’s also worth sticking around for the mid-credits scene, if only to revel in Donkey Kong being incredibly absent minded towards his scaly rival.

With a Donkey Kong solo film reportedly in the works, media like this does a lot to show the richness of the games cast. King K. Rool has long been an entertaining character, elevating the apely escapades of the Kongs in ways that Bowser can only dream of.

What did you think of the musical stylings of the Kremling king? Perhaps a duet with Bowser could be next? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
