World Of Warcraft Patch 10.2 Unveils Guardians Of The Dream

New Dream, Old Foe

Blizzard has unveiled what will come next for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, with the drop of their latest content patch, Guardians of The Dream.

The Guardian Dream has arrived, and players are tasked to protect the latest zone, The Emerald Dream. A special seed, planted by Tyrande, has grown into a new World Tree and is on the verge of crossing over into Azeroth. Fyrakk and his forces, including his new allies, the Druids of the Flame, move among the roots of the World Tree, inflaming the Dream denizens as they attempt to tear into the Emerald Dream to infuse the heart of the World Tree with fire and use it as a conduit to spread eternal flames throughout Azeroth. Fyrakk’s forces are on the prowl and our heroes certainly have their work cut out for them to help save the new World Tree.

The stunning visuals we are seeing in this patch are a lovely transition into the game’s season three content, continuing the Dragonflight story’s focus on the Emerald Dragonflight. Emerald Dream brings a sense of renewal and reminds us of the spiritual links that weave through the world of Azeroth. Personally, I have wanted to go to the Emerald Dream for as long as I have played and the Superbloom public event looks like a lot of fun.

Once released, players will be able to access the Dream through the western banks of the Ohn’ahran Plains, where the Green Dragonflight has made its home. The PTR realm will also feature:

  • New quests progress the Dragonflight story and reveal Fyrakk’s true intentions for Amirdrassil. Additionally, other side-story quests continue, including the final chapter in the Tyr Reforged questline.
  • Season 3’s new raid: Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope.
    • A new nine-boss raid awaits as players will need to contend with the Dream’s defenders as well as Fryakk’s forces, including his new allies, the Druids of the Flame.
  • New Mythic + Dungeon pool.
    • A new rotation of dungeons will comprise the Season 3 Mythic+ pool, including the two Wings of the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon: Galakrond’s Fall (Dawn of the Infinite Wing one) Murozond’s Rise (Dawn of the Infinite Wing two)
  • Mythic+ Dungeons from previous expansions will also make their way into the Dragonflight Season 3 rotation: Waycrest Manor – Battle for Azeroth, Atal’Dazar – Battle for Azeroth, Darkheart Thicket – Legion, Blackrook Hold – Legion. Lastly, two dungeons new to the Mythic+ system will make their debut: The Everbloom – Warlords of Draenor and Throne of the Tides – Cataclysm.

In addition to this, we can also look forward to a new legendary weapon, new class sets, and updates to dragon riding and class talents for rogue and demon hunter.

Look out for our developer interview on World Of Warcraft Patch 10.2 to be published soon. Emerald Dream will receive further previews and updates until its official release, as part of the PTR cycle. No release date is currently slated, but you can find more details at worldofwarcraft.com.
