Xbox has announced that Discord voice chat will soon be available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Detailed on Xbox Wire, the new feature is going live for Xbox Insiders today and will be made available for all Xbox users soon. This integration will people playing on Xbox consoles to join voice chats with Discord users on PC, mobile or other Xbox consoles. With online gaming being more inclusive than even when it comes to cross-play, this is a great step in the right direction to make it easier for people to play with whoever they like, regardless of platform.
Using a side menu, players will be able to see who is in the chat, as well as control the volume of each user and switch between Discord and Xbox chat.

To access Discord on your Xbox, you’ll need to open the Parties and Chats option on your console and then select Try Discord Voice on Xbox. From there you’ll be shown a QR code that can be scanned with your phone, prompting you to log in and link your Discord account with your Xbox account.
Once you have everything linked, you’ll be able to join a channel on the Discord app and then select Join on Xbox, which will then send the chat over to your console to be picked up from there.
This comes after PlayStation announced a partnership with Discord, allowing for certain integration between consoles and the social app. Though PlayStation doesn’t currently allow for the use of Discord voice chat, it seems like that functionality being added is only a matter of time.
