[UPDATED 2/5]
Unfortunately this delay is not limited to just physical versions of the game, with the digital version of the game also delayed until further notice.
No information has been revealed as to why the game won’t even make it to Xbox’s digital shelves, so fingers crossed we get an official update soon.

Physical copies of AFL 23 for Xbox will not launch alongside the PS5 and PS4 release on May 4 after the stock of the game has failed to arrive in time. The release has been pushed back to June.
The news was revealed after retailer reached out to a customer who had pre-ordered the game on Xbox, advising them of the delay. The delay appears to only be for the physical version of the game, so Xbox owners will still be able to purchase the game digitally on May 4.
It’s particularly frustrating given the game’s initial delay from April 13 to May 4 was due to supply of the Xbox copies not arriving when PS5 and PS4 versions have been sitting in retailers for weeks.
Either way, it’s good to know that the game’s launch will go ahead on May 4 and not be delayed further.
