Zero Latency VR Is Partnering With CD Projekt Red To Bring The World Of Cyberpunk 2077 Into Immersive VR

Welcome to Night City

Zero Latency VR has announced a partnership with acclaimed studio CD Projekt Red to bring the world of Cyberpunk 2077 to its free-roam VR experience format.

This huge partnership will see a brand-new experience developed exclusively for Zero Latency, allowing players to step into Night City and move through its familiar neon-lit streets. While this new attraction will be set within Night City and is sure to feature recognisable sights for fans of the game, it will be a standalone experience, so you won’t just be retracing old ground for those who have sunk many hours into 2077. While we don’t have any specifics just yet, the thought of moving through Night City and engaging with Cyberpunk’s iconic weaponry is a pretty enticing proposition, and it’s one that the WellPlayed crew will be eager to try out when it launches into Zero Latency sites across Australia and its various locations across the globe.

If you’re unfamiliar with Zero Latency, let me explain. As the name suggests, Zero Latency is a VR experience where up to eight players can don a headset and arm themselves with a gun controller before taking on a range of different challenges set in various themed levels. What makes Zero Latency a blast, however, is that you’re not locked in place. Instead, you’re able to move around freely in a sizeable area, able to see your teammates occupying the space with you as you mow down zombies, robots, and mercenaries.

This won’t be the first time that Zero Latency has tackled a major IP, either. For some time now, Far Cry VR has been a playable option, with players taking the madman Vaas and his hired mercs. More recently, Space Marine VR was added to the list of options, letting players live out their dreams of being a bio-engineered super soldier wading through waves of Tyranids. In fact, our own Ash Wayling, a certified Warhammer 40,000 sicko, recently jumped into Space Marine VR and had a blast stomping about as a Space Marine.

Seeing Zero Latency’s track record with established properties, it will be exciting to see what it can do with a world as well-realised and exciting as Cyberpunk 2077.
