November 2022’s PlayStation Plus Essential Games Have Been Revealed

Bricklike Bodies

Fun fact, November is my birthday month. I was hoping to get an Infamous 3 reveal for my birthday, but a solid PlayStation Plus line-up is a good second option. October was nice enough to bring us Hot Wheels UnleashedInjustice 2 and Superhot, which was a cracker of a month, so November has an uphill battle on its hands.

Announced on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Plus Essential games for November 2022 are Nioh 2, LEGO Harry Potter Collection and Heavenly Bodies.

Good lord, the Soulslike genre is absolutely bursting at the seams. While there are a lot of copycats and half-baked attempts at capturing the FromSoftware magic, a select few stand out from the pack. Chief among them are Nioh and Nioh 2. Developer Team Ninja proved they had what it takes to play with the big boys with the original game, but Nioh 2 improved on every aspect and introduced new mechanics to push the sequel even further. We gave Nioh 2 a 9.

The LEGO games are a bit of fun, aren’t they? If you’re a fan of a particular pop culture franchise, it’s more than likely that it’s got a brick-based adaptation. Seeing as though the World of Witchcraft and Wizardry is so beloved, it’s no surprise that Harry and friends have been given the building block treatment. The LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings together years one through seven into one package, where you can begin as a lowly student and end up saving Hogwarts from Voldemort. Combat, puzzles and LEGO humour is found throughout, so if you’re a LEGO fan, a Harry Potter fan, or if you sit in the middle of that Venn diagram, this is one for you.

They say no one can hear you scream in space, but what if that scream is brought on by frustration at a puzzle? Australian developer 2pt Interactive look to answer that question with Heavenly Bodies, a physics-based puzzler set in the vacuum space. Whether alone or with a co-op partner, you’ll be floating around, controlling your cosmonaut’s left and right limbs, attempting to complete tasks without yelling at each other. We gave Heavenly Bodies an 8.5.

If you haven’t downloaded Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2 and Superhot, you’ve got until October 31 to do so. As always, please remember that you can add these games to your library and download them later if you don’t have any precious space on your hard drive.
